Sweet pain & mutant bliss.

October 1, 2010

An amazing track from an unexpected voice.  Cree Summer (of “A Different World” fame) released a solo album back in the late 90s (produced by her friend, Lenny Kravitz) that went horribly unnoticed.  I find a lot of comfort in a lot of the tracks.  They speak beautifully, and (thankfully) quite uniquely, to the enigmas of love, loss & everything in between.  Check out a track I’ve played about 10x within the past hour, “Sweet Pain” from the album Street Faerie.  I really suggest grabbing the album.  I found mine in a used record store that I frequent.

After the jump, check out the Lenny & Cree duet, “Mean Sleep” which would later be covered by Van Hunt & hidden gem Nikka Costa for his album On the Jungle Floor.
